Multiple Myeloma

Bortezomib	1.3 mg/m2 IV or SC. Given subcutaneously or as a rapid IV bolus over three to five seconds.	Days 1, 8, 15, and 22
Melphalan	9 mg/m2 PO daily Take on an empty stomach (one hr prior to, or two hours after a meal).	Cycles 1 through 9: Days 1 through 4
Prednisone	60 mg/m2 PO daily	Take with food (after meals or with food or milk) in the morning.	Cycles 1 through 9: Days 1 through 4
